Flam! is the banner under which Canadian born, California based writer, musician, photographer and composer Paul Myers releases his instrumental electronic music. In March of 2018, Flam! released the debut collection, Garden Variety, which is still available on Bandcamp.
"Since then," says Myers, who also wrote this bio, "I have compiled about 43 new pieces, of which I have culled and curated to create the second release, Shadowcaster. The title was suggested not by the music, although there are most definitely shadows in it, but rather by the striking photograph that I took back at the salt flats and dunes of Sossusvlei, Namibia, back in early 2017.
Over the year since Garden Variety, I have further explored texture and arrangement, and perhaps in a nod to Marie Kondo, de-cluttering the soundscape. On the other hand, I've become more interested in beats, and one of the new pieces, the bonus cut "When The Fog Lifts" is a straight-up dance track.
I feel really happy with this setlist and it is my sincere hope that you'll find a use for this music, either to uplift you or to lend an aural atmosphere your environment. Note to filmmakers, why not temp track it and if it works, talk to me about licensing!
